About

An instrument for a quiet mind.

Mantle is a set of divination instruments — tarot, Lenormand, the I-Ching, the runes — kept in one considered place. A card, a coin, a rune: none of them foretell. They give the mind a surface to settle on, and a shape to think against.

What it is

Four traditions, read side by side. The tarot is an antique public-domain Tarot de Marseille, its cards named and read in the Marseille scheme. The Lenormand is an antique public-domain thirty-six-card deck. The I-Ching carries no art at all — only typography, a hexagram built line by line. The runes are the Elder Futhark, thrown and read where they fall. The aesthetic ties them together; the systems stay distinct.

Every working ends with a short Read Together — two or three present-tense sentences that draw the cards into one figure. It reflects rather than predicts, refers to the images rather than reciting keywords, and stops where an honest reading stops. It is the kind of synthesis a reader offers aloud at the end of a sitting, not a fortune.

Where it came from

Mantle began as a private tool — one reader's way of keeping their own readings, in their own register, without the noise of an app that wants your attention more than it wants to be useful. There are no feeds, no streaks, no notifications pulling you back. There is a page, a question, and what you make of the answer.

Your readings are saved to a journal that is yours alone. Over time the journal is the point: the cards that keep returning, the questions you keep asking, the record of a mind in conversation with itself.

What it is not

Not a prediction engine, and not advice. Mantle does not tell you what will happen or what to do; it is not a substitute for professional guidance on your health, your money, your law, or your life. A divination is an internal matter. The only important factor is your own mind, and its current state.
